What Does “Concealed” Mean on the NMJL Card?
A concealed hand is a hand that must be completed entirely by drawing tiles from the wall.
When a line on the NMJL card is marked Concealed, players may not call tiles discarded by other players at any point during the game.
All tiles in a concealed hand remain hidden on the rack until Mah Jongg is declared. If a player exposes tiles or calls a discard while attempting a concealed hand, the hand may be called dead.
Concealed hands are clearly labeled on the NMJL card, and the concealed requirement applies for the entire hand.
